Good morning everybody and thank you for joining us today this is Terry Everett I'm the ACA product specialist here at chellah payroll and we'll be presenting our 2017 1094 and 1095-c training webinar today my contact information is on the screen right now and I'd like to go over just a few things before we get started right now we have everyone in attendance currently on mute we will be taking questions at the end of the webinar please have your ACA questionnaire ACA spreadsheet as well as your 2017 AC a resource guide available you should have previously received all of these items and and I will be referencing them today so thank you again and let's get started before we get into the questionnaire and spreadsheet information needed from you this year we will very briefly cover a few items to ensure everyone understands exactly what data is required to file these forms for the IRS we will look at some of the history and terminology behind ACA requirements for this reporting we will inform you of the IRS definitions of a control group for ACA purposes as well as look at the actual forms we will be filing on your behalf the majority of our time will be spent going over the questionnaire and the ACA spreadsheet we need you to complete if you are not entering your data directly into the ACA screens available from the system we will finish up by discussing some critical dates for this filing period and going over some planning for 2018 at the end of the webinar I will take questions than a brief overview of how you can enter this information directly into evolution by passing the going forward I know everyone wants to do that additional training can be scheduled please email me directly with any questions you have or with a request for that one-on-one training as mentioned in the beginning we will be referring to both the questionnaire and the ACA resource guide and your AC a spreadsheet throughout the webinar I also have Carrie Lemon here our Quality Assurance Manager to assist with any questions you may have during this webinar you can also ask questions via the chat box when we break for live questions we will answer those questions first I realize your time is valuable and possibly limited so we want to allow those in attendance that may have to leave to get the necessary information as quickly as possible we will be here as long as necessary to answer all of your questions former President Barack Obama finds the ACA into law on March 23rd 2010 the 1094 see in the 1095-c reporting requirements were focusing on today are the result of the Affordable Care Act or ACA adding IRS code 60-56 IRS code 66 60-56 requires all applicable large employers or a le s defined as employers with 50 or more FTE employees to provide annual statements detailing the employers offer of health insurance or lack of an offer to every full-time employee this includes employees that worked for your company for one or more days during 2017 whether or not they're still active any part-time employees that enrolls in your health insurance must also be supplied and annual attendance I see statement safe harbor transitional relief provided to employers for not making a qualifying offer of insurance expired and is no longer an available option to choose for 2010 so please keep that in mind please refer to Gloucester to the glossary on pages 9 and 10 of your ACA resource guide for a complete explanation of all terms and concepts being discussed today we continue to receive and have answered a lot of questions regarding control groups first remember that an applicable large employer or a le is an employer with 50 or more FTE employees members of a control group must combine their FTE count to determine if they are an A le if the combined FTE count of all members of a control group together equal 50 or more each individual entity within that control group is classified a le to further convolute the terminology the IRS refers to single entities as well as members of a control group as a le members there are only three IRS defined control groups there's a parent subsidy group a brother-sister group and combined groups if you're unsure of your control group status please refer to page 9 and 10 in your ACA resource guide for comprehensive definitions so form 1095-c this is excuse me the 10 1994 see included in your AC a resource guide is the transmittal that must be filled filed with the IRS along with employees 1095 sees the information requested on the questionnaire I provided will allow us to properly prepare this form you will be provided a copy of all forms in March of 2018 after the filing has been completed with the IRS page 2 of 1094 reports the monthly FTE count for each member of a control group and finally page 3 lists each control group member and their federal ID number IRS forms 1095-c is the individual employee form that must be distributed to all applicable employees the information we are gathering on the spreadsheet will allow us to properly file these forms on your behalf ok and now we're going to look at the questionnaire and go through each step the actual information we need to collect and receive hopefully as soon as you can helps us to comply with the IRS reporting requirements so to begin with you're going to enter your client name and number if you don't know your number please give your your AE a call and they'll be able to help you with that I need your contact name contact phone number and email address remember the contact name that you provide will be included on the actual forms that are filed
